Microsoft will hold a 27% stake in OpenAI and obtain rights to use its AI models
Jinse Finance reported that after long-term negotiations, Microsoft (MSFT.O) and OpenAI have finally reached a new agreement. According to a joint statement released on Tuesday, Microsoft will acquire a 27% stake in OpenAI, valued at approximately $135 billion. In addition, Microsoft will be allowed to use the AI startup's technology, including models that have reached Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) benchmarks, until 2032. As part of the agreement, Microsoft will no longer have priority purchasing rights for OpenAI's computing power, but OpenAI has committed to investing an additional $250 billion to purchase Azure services.
