OCBC Bank: U.S. government restart may benefit gold assets
According to ChainCatcher, citing Golden Ten Data, Vasu Menon, Managing Director of Investment Strategy at OCBC Bank Singapore, stated that in addition to the stock market, gold may also be a potential beneficiary if the US government restarts operations. The end of the shutdown would allow the US government to release delayed economic data. If the data shows a slowdown in economic growth, it could provide the Federal Reserve with an earlier window to ease policy, which may be interpreted by the market as a precursor to a low interest rate environment, thus benefiting gold.
