Stock Sales Fuel Strategy’s Buying Spree

Strategy paid for its latest bitcoin purchases by selling more of its stock. Last week, it raised $928 million by issuing 5.13 million new MSTR shares and another $34.9 million by selling STRD preferred shares.

The company still has billions of dollars’ worth of stock it can issue across multiple at-the-market programs, all feeding into its larger plan to raise up to $84 billion for future bitcoin buys.

Strategy’s announcement of this latest purchase comes amid a rebound in the Bitcoin price. The flagship crypto has again broken above the psychological $91,000 level.

Saylor’s High-Conviction Bitcoin Strategy

Michael Saylor remains one of Bitcoin’s most outspoken corporate champions. His long-standing strategy relies on aggressive, often debt-backed BTC accumulation as a hedge against inflation and dollar weakness.

However, the company has faced growing scrutiny over this leveraged approach, especially after sharp swings in Bitcoin’s price and a steep drop in Strategy’s stock.

Strategy’s shares have fallen more than 40% since January, now trading below the value of its underlying Bitcoin holdings. Bitcoin itself is trading over 15% down compared with a month ago.
