Bitcoin Core Developer: The Bitcoin community should focus on issues such as privacy and decentralization
Bitcoin core developer Matt Corallo stated that the existence of untrusted parties in Bitcoin transactions remains a challenge, which could undermine the spirit of Bitcoin's decentralization. Matt Corallo also discussed how regulatory challenges have increased as Bitcoin becomes more mainstream. He pointed out a significant shift in the ecosystem, with many participants now prioritizing investment security over fundamental principles like non-KYC and decentralized payments. Matt Corallo criticized the community for focusing on securities reform rather than more pressing issues like privacy and decentralization. "We've wasted it, consumed all the political capital of cryptocurrencies to push for securities reform to ensure token issuance is (possibly) legal, instead of trying to ensure people can make meaningful transactions without attracting worldwide attention," he said.
