U.S. Democratic Senators ask Musk's DOGE staff to leave CFPB
two U.S. Democratic senators have asked government efficiency department (DOGE) personnel related to Musk to leave the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), stating that their presence has disrupted the agency responsible for regulating the billionaire's yet-to-be-established payment business. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff said Musk "is not only suppressing the consumer protection agency regulating X digital wallets, he may also have access to confidential company data that could give X an unfair advantage over competitors." Earlier this month, DOGE staff entered the agency, disrupting operations and shutting down headquarters, temporarily putting the agency into a dormant state.
