According to Jinse Finance, The Wall Street Journal reported that court documents show YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed against the company and its CEO by U.S. President Trump in 2021. The lawsuit stemmed from YouTube's ban on Trump's account following the Capitol Hill riot. This settlement makes YouTube, a subsidiary of Google (GOOG.O), the last tech giant to reach a settlement with Trump. In the months after leaving the White House, Trump filed lawsuits against three social media platforms. As previously reported, Meta Platforms agreed in January to pay $25 million (with most of the funds going to the Trump Presidential Library Fund), while the X platform agreed to pay $10 million (most of which will be paid directly to Trump). According to court documents, Trump will receive $22 million from the settlement, which will be donated to the nonprofit National Mall Trust Fund, specifically for building a Mar-a-Lago-style banquet hall at the White House.
