Chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee consults with CFTC Acting Chairman on expanding crypto regulatory authority
According to a report by Jinse Finance, crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett revealed that Glenn "GT" Thompson, Chairman of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, held a meeting on Thursday with Caroline D. Pham, Acting Chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The discussion focused on how the commodity regulator is preparing to expand its crypto regulatory authority and advance related rulemaking next year—an initiative based on expectations that market structure-related legislation will be passed. Previously, Pham had met with Senator John Boozman, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee (@SenateAg), last week to discuss similar topics.
