Russian President Putin has signed a law to include the digital ruble in the country's national tax legislation
According to Cryptonews, Russian President Putin has signed a law that incorporates the digital ruble into the national tax legislation.
The new law adds terms such as "digital ruble" and "digital ruble wallet," and allows individuals designated by law enforcement and other courts to "recover" CBDC funds from wallets when there is insufficient legal tender currency in taxpayers' bank accounts. In addition, the law grants tax authorities the power to suspend transactions of digital ruble wallets. Tax officials can also request platform operators to provide documents proving that funds have been written off from taxpayers' accounts, and allow them to transfer confiscated tokens to the Russian Ministry of Finance.
