Implied Volatility for Bitcoin Options Hits Annual High
According to The Block's data dashboard, the implied volatility for Bitcoin options (a measure of the market's prediction of price fluctuations) has reached an annual high of 86.3%, indicating an increase in market uncertainty. André Dragosch, Head of Research at ETC Group, noted that the data suggests a significant premium on options expiring this Friday due to uncertainty about the potential approval of an ETF. He stated, "With implied volatility spiking, Bitcoin options traders are gearing up for higher uncertainty ahead of a potential ETF approval."
