OP Labs: The Delta network upgrade plan will be activated on February 22nd, and Span Batches may reduce more than 90% of the fixed on-chain costs
OP Labs announced on social media that the governance vote for the Delta network upgrade was successfully passed last week. Node operators need to upgrade their nodes before the network upgrade is activated, which is scheduled for 0:00 UTC on February 22nd. One of the much-anticipated features of the Delta upgrade, Span Batches, is expected to reduce more than 90% of fixed chain overheads for operators running standard convolution OP chains. These reductions, coupled with a decrease in 4844 fees in a few weeks' time, will further optimize network efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
