Bitcoin Rises Nearly 45% in February, Best Monthly Performance Since 2020
Bitcoin closed up nearly 45% in February, its sixth consecutive month of gains and its best monthly performance since December 2020, as of the U.S. closing bell in New York on February 29th. Ether rose more than 47%, also the sixth consecutive month of gains and the best month since July 2022. February was a historically strong month for both bitcoin and ethereum. According to CoinGlass, Bitcoin has been profitable in February 10 out of the last 12 years, with an average return of 15.68% for the month. Ether has closed higher seven times in February over the past eight years, with an average February gain of 17.21%.
