Musk predicts: AI is expected to surpass the smartest humans next year
Musk predicts that by next year or 2026, artificial intelligence (AI) may be smarter than the smartest humans. Musk was interviewed on Monday by Nicolai Tangen, CEO of Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund. When asked about the development timeline for general artificial intelligence (AGI), Musk said: "If AGI is defined as being smarter than the smartest humans, I think it could be next year, that is within two years." Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Google's AI company DeepMind predicted earlier this year that AGI could be achieved by 2030.
