Hackers are selling personal information of Hong Kong residents on the dark web and have released sample data on the forum BreachForums. They claim that data of Hong Kong residents related to the Civil Affairs and Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and border control has been leaked, including phone numbers, full names, ID numbers, and addresses, and that the data was leaked by the Civil Affairs and Immigration Department. The price for every 10,000 pieces of data is $1,000, and for 100,000 pieces of data, it is $5,000, with payment required in virtual currency. The Civil Affairs and Immigration Department of Hong Kong stated that there is no evidence of any intrusion or theft of data, and no data has been leaked. They have also reported the incident to the police. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data in Hong Kong also stated that they have not received any notification of a data leak from relevant departments.
