The total global Web3 financing in May reached 917 million US dollars, with Farcaster's valuation reaching 1 billion US dollars

According to statistics from Cailian Press Venture Capital, in May, there were a total of 100 financing events in the global Web3 field, which was basically flat compared with April; the total financing amount reached $917 million, a decrease of 5.46% month-on-month. In terms of sub-sectors, the sector with the most financing quantity and total amount in May was blockchain infrastructure. This sector had 41 projects that received a total of $498 million. However, this sector's total financing amount decreased by nearly $100 million compared to April; both DeFi and CeFi sectors maintained certain growth in their total funding amounts.

From an institutional perspective, Animoca Brands, OKX Ventures and Coinbase Ventures were the top three investors in terms of investment frequency in May: Animoca Brands made nine investments including four towards blockchain infrastructure; OKX Ventures made five investments including three towards blockchain infrastructure; Coinbase Ventures made four investments all directed at blockchain infrastructure.
