21Shares United: Lack of Pledge for Ether ETFs Won't Curb Strong Institutional Demand
Institutional investors are unlikely to be concerned that U.S. spot ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) won't pledge the underlying tokens to provide additional returns, although retail investors are eager to have this built-in functionality, according to Ophelia Snyder, co-founder of digital asset management firm 21Shares. This difference in demand means that there is a potential business case for vendors to list separate and distinct products to meet the needs of both camps. Ophelia Snyder says: "If you want to engage institutional investors, you need to start by making things simple." Non-pledged products are "more palatable" to institutional investors, even if they are less popular among retail investors.
