Odaily News Nigerias information technology agency, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), is considering plans to develop a domestic
blockchain to strengthen national security and protect citizen data. NITDA Director General Kashifu Abdullahi said the blockchain will be named Nigerium and aims to strengthen national security and protect citizen data. A person who supports the development of local blockchain believes that such a protocol may ensure that Nigerias laws are followed and give the country greater control over its data. (
