A 500Gh home Bitcoin mining device mined a block, earning over $200,000 in BTC
According to a post on the X platform by Altair Technology, a Bitcoin mining device named "Bitaxe", despite having only one in a billion chance of mining a block every ten minutes, successfully mined a block worth approximately $206,000. The device is produced by D-Central Technologies and is only about the size of a human palm, as shown on the YouTube channel "How Much?".
The report stated that at the time, the device was connected to Solo CKPool node infrastructure services and successfully mined a block. According to data from Bitcoin analysis platform CoinWarz, the current total hash rate of the Bitcoin network is 552.49 exahashes per second (Eh/s), equivalent to 552,490,000,000 Gh/s - about one billion times that of Bitaxe's capacity. This indicates that this device has roughly one in a billion chance every ten minutes of mining a block.
