37,000 BTC options and 180,000 ETH options will expire today, with a total nominal value of 3 billion US dollars
According to the options expiry data released today by Adam@Greeks.live, 37,000 BTC options have expired with a Put Call Ratio of 0.58 and the biggest pain point at $66,000, representing a nominal value of $2.4 billion. In addition, 180,000 ETH options have expired with a Put Call Ratio of 0.55 and the biggest pain point at $3,300, representing a nominal value of $600 million. The crypto market has been weak this week; as expected, the listing of ETH ETF led to a crash in ETH and an overall outflow of market funds. Several important events have landed smoothly with significant declines in IV for major terms; Dvol has fallen to its lowest level within the year indicating low expectations for future markets. U.S stocks haven't performed well recently; there are no positive factors strong enough to support the market in August yet - it might take another month or two for things to pick up.
