Boston Fed President: lower inflation will allow the Fed to cut rates soon
Boston Fed President Collins, a member of the 2025 FOMC vote, said in an interview that the Fed will likely start easing its interest rate restrictions if inflation continues to fall while the labour market remains strong. Collins added that the US labour market remains strong despite the latest jobs data coming in below expectations. She warned that while inflation is returning to the 2 per cent target level, it is doing so at a slower pace than expected.
