Analysts Anna Wong: Powell's statement sounds pretty dovish to us. So far, he hasn't discouraged bets on a 50-basis-point cut in September, hasn't indicated that the cut should be gradual, and hasn't used the word “methodical” to describe the likely path of the cut as his colleagues have.
