Indian police officer faces investigation for allegedly tampering with crypto evidence
four police officers from the Central Crime Branch in Bangalore, India are under investigation for allegedly tampering with evidence of encrypted assets. These assets are derived from the criminal proceeds of international hacker Srikrishna Ramesh. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) found that the officers illegally accessed his encrypted wallet after arresting Sriki in 2020, and transferred bitcoins through private network experts. Currently, the investigation is still ongoing and may involve more widespread corrupt practices.
