Ethereum Founder Emphasizes That Ethereum Is Not a Bitcoin Replacement

Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio stated at the 2025 Consensus Conference that blockchain was not initially intended to be a competitor to Bitcoin, but rather emerged as an alternative. He pointed out that Ethereum has the potential to surpass Bitcoin and is expected to overtake Bitcoin in the future.
