Opinion: BTC dominance is declining, but it has not yet entered the alt season
Bitcoin's dominance in the cryptocurrency market (BTC Dominance) has recently dropped from 65% to 62%, sparking discussions about the upcoming "altcoin season." However, analysts point out that although some altcoins are performing well, the overall market has not yet entered a full bull market phase. Alphractal CEO Joao Wedson predicts that a full altcoin season may not start until June, but the current market is still in its early stages. In addition, despite Bitcoin stabilizing at around $103,000, altcoins such as Ethereum, XRP, and Solana have recently outperformed Bitcoin, indicating a shift in investor interest towards these assets. Analysts also caution that historical data shows altcoin seasons typically start when Bitcoin's dominance falls below 54%, a level that has not been reached yet.
