Japan's PM plans to propose at G7 summit to step up crackdown on North Korea's cryptocurrency theft
according to Kyodo News, Japanese Prime Minister Shizo Abe plans to propose at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada from June 15 to 17 to strengthen efforts to combat malicious cyber activities such as North Korea stealing encrypted currencies. This will be the first time the G7 summit discusses the issue of North Korea stealing encrypted currencies.
According to multiple sources in the Japanese government, this move aims to strengthen regulation through international cooperation, cutting off North Korea's channels of illegally obtaining encrypted currency funds through cyber attacks, which are believed to be used for the development of weapons of mass destruction.
