ANZ: Powell May Continue to Exercise Patience and Wait
According to Odaily Planet Daily, ANZ Bank stated in a client report that the Federal Reserve is highly likely to keep the federal funds target rate unchanged at this week’s meeting. Although the latest macroeconomic data show some cooling in the labor market, it remains relatively resilient. The bank believes that, amid rising tariffs and increasing inflation uncertainty, the strength of the labor market gives the Fed time to focus on the upcoming inflation report. ANZ expects Fed Chair Jerome Powell to continue emphasizing patience, noting that monetary policy is in a good position to respond appropriately to developments.
