Odaily Planet Daily reports that the XRPL EVM sidechain has now gone live on the mainnet, integrating Ethereum smart contracts into the XRP Ledger ecosystem. This aims to open up Ethereum-compatible decentralized application use cases for the XRP Ledger. Reportedly, the XRPL EVM sidechain is a parallel blockchain that combines the low-cost transaction capabilities of the XRP Ledger with the smart contract functionality of Ethereum. (The Block)
