US Treasury Secretary Yellen: The Federal Reserve May Cut Interest Rates in September or Earlier

According to a report by Jinse Finance, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent stated on Tuesday evening that he believes the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates in September or "even earlier," as so far, Trump's tariffs have only triggered moderate inflation. "I think the standard is that tariffs do not cause inflation. If they are going to follow this standard, I think they may act sooner, but certainly before September," Bessent said. "I suspect this tariff imbalance syndrome might even occur at the Federal Reserve." Bessent made these remarks as Trump increased pressure on the Fed and Powell, demanding a rate cut of up to 3 percentage points.
