Early Ethereum Holder Moves $2.2 Million Worth of Genesis Coins After 10 Years of HODLing (UTC+8)
Bitget2025/07/07 23:52According to Jinse Finance, blockchain data shows that an investor holding $2.2 million worth of Ethereum began transferring these tokens on Monday after leaving them untouched for nearly 10 years. This holder originally received the 900 ETH in 2015, when the price of Ethereum was less than 50 cents. These are "genesis coins," digital tokens created in Ethereum's very first block. Before Ethereum officially enabled trading, these "pre-mined" ETH were allocated to early contributors and developers of the project—at that time, each was worth only a few cents.
