Ethena’s USDe stablecoin market cap surged 75% from July 17 to August 4, 2025, driven by the launch of its treasury arm and capital allocation program.
The surge positions USDe as the third-largest stablecoin, highlighting robust market interest and strategic growth initiatives by Ethena’s ecosystem.
Ethena’s USDe stablecoin market cap increased 75% within a month, escalating from $5.33 billion to over $9.3 billion by August 4, 2025. This surge correlates with the launch of its treasury arm and capital allocation program.
Guy Young, Ethena’s founder, announced on Twitter the rapid USDe supply growth. Over $3.1 billion of new USDe was minted, positioning it as the third-largest stablecoin. Ethena Foundation oversees tokenomics and treasury strategy.

The supply increase in USDe, surpassing other top stablecoins, reflects positive shifts in perpetual futures markets. An ENB buyback worth $260 million by Stablecoin X has bolstered this growth, enhancing liquidity and user participation.
The announcement resulted in Ethena’s Total Value Locked reaching $9.53 billion. Staked USDe (sUSDe) now offers an 11% APY. ENA’s price rallied 12%–15% during the period, supporting investor and market engagement.
No explicit regulatory actions target USDe, though Ethena plans a SPAC market listing. The community, active on platforms like Twitter and Discord, shows support. Historical comparisons include rapid market cap moves in the DeFi sector.
Algorithmic stability differentiates USDe from previous stablecoins, reducing risk through on-chain perpetual strategies. The growing DeFi integration suggests potential sustained impacts as sectors adapt to the more transparent treasury actions reported by the foundation.
