OpenAI Plans Trillion-Dollar AI Infrastructure Altman Seeks to Design New Financing Instruments
According to Jinse Finance, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that he hopes to invest trillions of dollars in the future to build the infrastructure needed for developing and operating artificial intelligence services. "You should expect OpenAI to invest trillions of dollars in the not-too-distant future" for data center construction, Altman told reporters on Thursday. "You should expect a group of economists to wring their hands and say, 'This is crazy, it's reckless,' and so on. But we'll just say, 'You know what? Let us do our thing.'" Altman said the startup is designing an innovative way to fund this expenditure. "I think we can design a very interesting new type of financial instrument for financing and computing power, something no one in the world has thought of yet," he said. "We're working on it."
