Fed Governor Cook Says She Won't Resign Due to Bullying, Trump Officials Respond Swiftly
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Federal Reserve Governor Cook issued a statement saying: "I learned from the media that FHFA Director Thompson posted on social media that he is making a criminal referral regarding a mortgage application from four years ago, which was before I joined the Federal Reserve. I have no intention of resigning from my position due to questions raised and bullying received on Twitter. As a member of the Federal Reserve, I do take any questions about my personal financial history seriously, so I am gathering accurate information to address any legitimate concerns and provide the facts." Thompson also responded quickly, stating: "Ms. Cook, you or your lawyer can write whatever you want. The exposure is based on mortgage documents, not Twitter."
