South Korean Court Orders Wemade to Pay Former Employee Approximately $7.14 Million in Outstanding Wages
According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from Nwes1, the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea has issued a partial ruling in favor of the plaintiffs in a compensation lawsuit filed by current and former Wemade employees against the company.
The court ordered Wemade to pay a total of 9.93928 billion KRW (approximately 7.14 million USD) in compensation. In July last year, 27 current and former Wemade executives and employees filed a lawsuit against the company, seeking 16.17648 billion KRW in damages.
One individual who previously worked at Wemade’s subsidiary, Wemade Tree, stated that the company had promised to make payments but failed to fulfill them, which led to the lawsuit.
