Tether: No plans to freeze smart contracts on Omni Layer, Kusama, EOS, Algorand, and other blockchains for now
According to Jinse Finance, official sources report that Tether previously announced plans to gradually discontinue support for USDT token redemption and freezing on the Omni Layer, Bitcoin Cash SLP, Kusama, EOS, and Algorand blockchains starting from September 1, 2025. However, based on feedback from the communities of these discontinued blockchains, Tether has decided to revise this approach and will not freeze smart contracts on these networks. Although users can still transfer tokens between wallets, Tether will cease direct issuance and redemption of tokens on these blockchains.
