Ethereum Foundation Releases Protocol Update 003: Enhances User Experience and Proposes Multi-Track Roadmap Through 2026
Foresight News reported that the Ethereum Foundation has released Protocol Update 003, aiming to improve user experience. The update outlines a multi-track roadmap to make Ethereum "feel like a single chain again" and introduces a protocol update that prioritizes faster confirmations, trust-minimized cross-chain interactions, as well as new user experience and privacy tools on the second largest blockchain in cryptocurrency. The plan introduces three workflows, named "Initialization," "Acceleration," and "Completion," and announces deliverables and target dates extending to 2026.
Under the Initialization workflow, Ethereum Foundation (EF) engineers and ecosystem teams are launching an Open Intents Framework, allowing users to express their desired outcomes. In addition, developers have proposed an Ethereum interoperability layer designed to facilitate trustless transactions across Layer 2 networks and have developed a set of standards aimed at reducing friction.
