- He expects a bullish altseason price pump to play out.
- The pump will begin once ETH breaks past $5,000.
This bull cycle has been a tough and challenging one for altcoin holders, traders, investors, and enthusiasts. So far, the price charts of several altcoins have been showing consistently bullish indicators since before the bull cycle began. Thus, analysts continue to remain bullish on altseason. One analyst explains why this bull cycle altseason has been repeatedly delayed this time.
Analyst Explains Why This Bull Cycle Altseason Has Been Delayed
Since Bitcoin began its bull run last year, only a handful of altcoins went on to hit new ATHs alongside Bitcoin’s pump. These few altcoins include ONDO, FET, and SUI. Then, this year, SOL and BNB went on to hit new ATHs as well. But analysts believed the peak altseason pump phase would not occur unless the pioneer altcoin asset, Ethereum (ETH), would set new ATH prices of its own.
Thus, most of the year went by steadily watching the price of ETH pump and hit higher highs, until the asset finally reclaimed its previous ATH price in the $4,800 price range in Q3, until it set its first and only new ATH price so far this cycle in the $4,900 price range. Now, analysts believe that altseason could not arrive unless the price of ETH could surpass and hold above the $5,000 price range.
As we can see from the post above, this one analyst still expects altseason to occur in the final two months of this year, if not early next year. He goes on to explore why this bull cycle’s altseason was repeatedly delayed. To start off, he talks about how Bitcoin (BTC) pumped 8.5x to $126,000 from the bottom of $15,400 in November 2022 and how US stocks are at an all-time high.
Additionally, gold added $15 trillion to its market cap. With massive liquidity, all these big assets are absolutely exploding. While ETH is struggling to break its 2021 ATH of $4,800, and altcoins are making new lows every week. Why? The reason could be that investors are only betting on safe assets like gold and US stocks, at the moment. So currently, the liquidity is only in low-risk assets.
Altseason Could Still Play Out This Year
If one looks at 2017 and 2021, this is how bull markets have always played out. Safe assets run hard, allowing traders to grow confident nd letting liquidity flow into risky assets where returns are still to be made. So eventually funds will pour into BTC, then ETH and altcoins, high-cap to low-cap assets.
With all the tariffs and trade war situation, this whole year has been a very uncertain time for investors, so they have only focused on low-risk assets like gold, bonds, and the top 7 stocks. But with 3 rate cuts in 2025, QT ending, and easing of monetary policy, the markets will see liquidity flowing back to risk assets, which will send Bitcoin to new highs with ETH following it. Once ETH breaks and holds above $5,000, that’s when confidence returns into altcoins.
