Release dates set for new batch of US data, including CFTC weekly report and PPI
Jinse Finance reported that a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Labor stated that the Department plans to make up for the missing weekly initial jobless claims data during the government shutdown by the end of Thursday local time. Spokesperson Ryan Honick said that due to technical issues, an initial figure—the number of initial jobless claims for the week ending October 18, which was 232,000—was unexpectedly released ahead of schedule. Honick stated that when supplementing this missing data, the Department of Labor will not issue the usual accompanying press release. The missing data will be published directly on the Department of Labor's official website. The latest announcement from the Department also shows that it plans to release the September PPI data at 21:30 (GMT+8) on November 25, and the September Import and Export Price Index at 21:30 (GMT+8) on December 3. In addition, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) also announced that it will begin releasing the Commitments of Traders report this week, with the first report expected to be published in the early hours of Thursday (GMT+8). The CFTC will release up to two reports per week until January 23 next year, at which point the release schedule will return to normal.
