.@FalconStable has introduced a new proposal (FIP-1) that adds a dual-staking model on top of the existing $sFF system which is pretty unique imo. It directly tackles structural issues that almost every YBS protocol deals with: 🔸 Short-term, feedback-driven liquidations 🔸 Mercenary capital inflows/outflows that chase transient APR 🔸 Leveraged looping artificially inflating TVL (for ST yield optimisation) 🔸 Governance being swayed by short-term farmers lacking long-term alignment It’s also a common frustration for stakers to deal with cooldown mechanics since it impedes capital efficiency too. The goal of FIP-1 aims to fix these pain points by structurally improving alignment between $FF holders, governance participants & Falcon’s multi-year roadmap. ========== FIP-1 Technical Overview: The proposal comprises of two key upgrades which aim to significantly enhance staking dynamics across Falcon in the long-run. 1⃣ Introduction of Prime FF (sFF-180) The proposal introduces Prime FF, a 180-day lockup variant (essentially sFF-180) that comes with enhanced governance weight and higher yields compared to standard sFF. The design goals are straightforward: 🔹 Reward long-term conviction 🔹 Align governance toward long-horizon stakeholders 🔹 Reduce influence from opportunistic yield maximisers This ensures that participation means genuine alignment with Falcon's broader development roadmap, where enhanced benefits are rewards includes: 💠10x Governance Power vs. flexible sFF → This means holding 100 sFF-180 = 1,000 sFF voting power. 💠Enhanced yield premiums → 5.22% APY (vs. newly proposed Flexible FF Staking → 0.1% APY) *Note: Proposed yields are subjected to changes based on existing protocol development & market conditions. 2⃣Removal of $sFF Unstaking Cooldown The conventional staking rn mandates 3-day cooldown period which is typically associated as outdated + user-unfriendly. Falcon recognises this and will introduce max flexibility in both staking mechanisms by eliminating the existing 3-day cooldown for unstaking (sFF → FF). This means zero delays with instant flexibility frictionless & adaptive users. *For Prime FF stakers, unstaking is available immediately once the 180-day commitment ends. These dual-pronged approach essentially right-sizes influence toward LT stakers who are more likely to vote in Falcon's strategic interests. ========== So what does all these aim to achieve? IMO, enabling this dual-staking mechanism boost staking inclusivity as it serves to cater to both: 1. Long-term aligned participants 2. Short-term yield optimisers This means capturing the best of both audiences without compromising the utility of either group. With a more flexible yet conviction-weighted staking system, this creates several key outcomes: 1⃣ Stronger, More Aligned Governance Both ST & LT users participate, but governance weight naturally gravitates toward long-term conviction → aligning decisions with Falcon’s long-term strategic arc. 2⃣ Reduction of Mercenary Capital Influence Offering of predictable yield premiums for sFF-180 makes long-term staking more attractive than opportunistic farming which will be effective in skewing Falcon’s tokenholder base toward long-term stakeholders. 3⃣Healthy Participation Spectrum Two staking pools create a clear separation where (1) flexible users maintain liquidity + accessibility & (2) committed holders receive governance weight + stronger yields. 4⃣ Improved UX & Capital Efficiency Removing cooldowns makes staking more usable + lowers friction for all participants w/o compromising protocol security. All these collectively enhance Falcon’s protocol-wide dynamics, and indirectly shape its future growth trajectory. This is especially meaningful given Falcon’s sustained climb to >$2B TVL, supported by deep DeFi integrations and a wide range of advanced, yield-tied strategies for $USDf $sUSDf. As the protocol scales, governance weight naturally becomes more financially consequential. Stronger alignment between stakeholder incentives <> protocol direction will matter even more, since governance decisions begin to hold heavier influence in economic impact. ========== Final Thoughts At its core, FIP-1 main objective here is to align the broader community with people who actually care.
