Euroclear, a major European clearinghouse, has launched its Digital Securities Issuance (D-SI) business, which will assist in issuing, distributing, and settling fully digital financial assets on distributed ledgers. The World Bank's International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) has used Euroclear's tokenized securities issuance service to issue a €100 million ($106 million) digital bond for financing sustainable development activities, which is listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. The bond was issued on the Corda blockchain, and the market for tokenized assets could grow to between $3.5 trillion to $10 trillion by the end of the decade, according to digital asset investment firm 21.co.
