Solana launches a new generation of SPL token extension, supporting enterprise-level use cases
According to the official announcement, Solana has launched a new generation of SPL token extensions that provide native support for enterprise use cases without relying on third parties. The new extensions include "Confidential Transfers" which protect the confidentiality of user balances during transfers and hide transaction amounts, wallet control for token issuers to interact with their tokens, and "Transfer Hooks" that define how tokens and users interact. These extensions unlock possibilities for using new business standards and use cases on the Solana blockchain. For example, Confidential Transfers can be used for on-chain salaries, B2B payments, and financial management; Transfer Hooks can be used for KYC verification, token access control, and royalty enforcement; while Transfer Fees can be used for perpetual royalties, issuance fees, and transaction fees.
