Ethernet Dencun upgrade expected to reduce Layer-2 network user fees
The Ether Dencun upgrade is scheduled for 13 March and is expected to reduce costs for users of the Layer-2 network. This allows Ether to provide more efficient and cheaper data storage for other blockchains. The Dencun upgrade is the first step in realising the Ether rollup-centric roadmap, Fidelity Digital Assets said in a research note on Wednesday.
The Layer-2 blockchain will be upgraded to provide the required extensions to make it a more suitable global database for other blockchains. This improvement is expected to attract more users to the Ether ecosystem and expand the network's Total Accessibility Market (TAM). The upgrade will reduce the cost of storing data on the main chain for the Layer-2 blockchain, and this reduction will likely be delivered to users in the form of reduced fees.
