US President Trump on Saturday ordered troops to be sent to the city of Portland, Oregon, and said that if necessary, he would authorize "full measures" to combat crime. Trump wrote in a post on the "Truth Social" platform: "At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, I have instructed War Secretary Peter Hage Seis to deploy all necessary troops to protect the war-torn city of Portland, as well as any ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) facilities attacked by Antifa and other domestic terrorists. I also authorize taking full measures, if necessary." The post did not specify whether he was referring to the National Guard or regular military forces.
