A telecom giant just extended the deadline to file claims for an incoming $177 million settlement payout.

AT&T has agreed to pay $149 million for a 2019 data breach and $28 million for a separate 2024 incident – and affected customers can claim up to $7,500.

The new deadline is December 18th, 2025 after a court pushed the filing period by one month.

Payouts will likely begin in early 2026 after final approval in January, and eligible users must file online or by mail.

The 2019 breach exposed data of 73 million, including Social Security numbers, while the 2024 breach hit 109 million via Snowflake, stealing 2022 call records.

Claims offer documented loss payments up to $5,000 for the first breach and $2,500 for the second.

Without proof, pro rata shares apply, and overlap victims can claim both. The deadline to opt-out or object is November 17th.

The settlement will resolve consolidated lawsuits from 2024, and includes no admission of wrongdoing by AT&T.
