Bitcoin Core: Wallet migration error found in versions 30.0 & 30.1, lack of backup may result in loss of funds
Foresight News reported that Bitcoin Core stated that there is a wallet migration error in Bitcoin Core wallet versions 30.0 & 30.1. In very rare cases, migrating an old (BDB) wallet may delete all wallet files on the same node. If these wallets are not backed up, it could result in loss of funds.
Bitcoin Core indicated that only the migration process of old wallets is affected. All other uses are not impacted. Users can continue to use Bitcoin Core as normal, including using existing wallets and running nodes without a wallet.
