Samik Chatterjee, an analyst at JPMorgan, recently toured Qualcomm Inc’s booth at CES 2026. During the event, Qualcomm’s leadership emphasized the company’s expanding and increasingly competitive lineup of PC products.
Qualcomm’s Stock Gains Momentum
Qualcomm shares have been on the rise. What’s fueling this upward trend?
Showcasing PC Innovations and Partnerships
Chatterjee continues to rate Qualcomm as Overweight. At CES, the company unveiled several new PCs developed in collaboration with major brands such as Lenovo, Asus, and HP. All of these devices are powered by Qualcomm’s X2 Elite SIP chipsets.
According to management, this new range of products offers leading performance compared to competitors and is expected to cover over 95% of PC price segments as the rollout advances.
Emphasis on Performance and AI
At the booth, Qualcomm presented performance benchmarks, directly comparing its Snapdragon X2 Elite and X Elite processors with those from other major PC manufacturers. The results showed Snapdragon chips outperforming rivals in everyday use, with the advantage becoming even more pronounced in low-power or unplugged scenarios.
Qualcomm also highlighted the capabilities of its Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which helps distribute workloads across different applications, including those involving audio and visual processing. By offloading tasks from the CPU, the NPU enables faster app performance and enhances the overall user experience.
Expanding Opportunities in Enterprise and Physical AI
The company also spotlighted advancements in enterprise solutions, such as a new fleet management platform that allows businesses to manage devices remotely. This solution will be supported by an integrated modem, leveraging Qualcomm’s strengths in connectivity.
Devices featuring this technology are expected to launch in the latter half of the year, opening up new business opportunities for Qualcomm.
Additionally, Qualcomm discussed its data center strategy, focusing on inference workloads. The company views Nvidia’s acquisition of Groq as confirmation that the needs of inference and training in AI are distinct. Qualcomm plans to continue developing its NPU to address these inference demands.
Chatterjee also noted a surge in customer interest in physical AI applications, with Qualcomm reporting increased activity across a broad spectrum of robotics, from entry-level to advanced solutions, reflecting wider trends seen at CES.
