Wall Street and the crypto community make private progress on market structure bill
PANews, January 9th – According to Decrypt, Wall Street's leading trade organization SIFMA held a private meeting with DeFi and crypto industry representatives to discuss differences in the Senate crypto market structure bill, with particular progress made regarding DeFi regulatory provisions. SIFMA expressed objections to regulatory exemptions for certain decentralized finance services and their developers, while industry participants attempted to persuade SIFMA to adjust its stance during the meeting. The bill faces a key Senate vote next week, and both sides are working urgently to reach a compromise.
