2025 Nonfarm Payroll Summary: Labor Market Momentum Exhausted, Annual Growth Hits 15-Year Low
PANews, January 9th – According to Jinse Finance, today's non-farm payroll data shows that total employment in the United States increased by only 584,000 people for the entire year of 2025. This is the weakest growth since 2020, when employment plummeted by 9.2 millions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking back to the pre-pandemic period, during the entire expansion from 2010 to 2019, there was never an annual increase as low as 584,000 people.
