Vitalik: Ethereum needs a more mature decentralized stablecoin system and should build a value index superior to the US dollar peg.
Foresight News reported that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated that the Ethereum ecosystem needs a more mature decentralized stablecoin system, and pointed out three core issues: first, a value index superior to the US dollar price peg should be constructed; second, a decentralized oracle design that cannot be captured by large capital is needed; third, the competitive relationship between staking yields and stablecoins, as well as the CDP mechanism, needs to be resolved.
Vitalik believes that short-term pegging to the US dollar is acceptable, but in the long term, reliance on a single fiat currency system should be reduced to enhance system resilience. Lowering the staking yield to around 0.2% basically only suits hobbyists.
