CME Group's crypto product trading volume grew by 139% in 2025, reaching a record high
ChainCatcher News, according to PR Newswire, the latest data from CME Group shows that in 2025, the average daily trading volume of its cryptocurrency products surged by 139% to 278,000 contracts (worth approximately $12 billion), reaching a record high.
Micro Ether futures became the best-performing product, with an average daily trading volume of 144,000 contracts; Micro Bitcoin futures saw an average daily trading volume of 75,000 contracts; Ether futures had an average daily trading volume of 19,000 contracts, all setting new annual highs.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, cryptocurrency products performed even more strongly, with an average daily trading volume of 379,000 contracts (worth $13.3 billion), among which Micro Ether futures trading volume increased by 164% year-on-year. In December alone, the average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency products also reached a record high of 339,000 contracts.
