Meta appoints Dina Powell McCormick, a former advisor to Trump, as its president and vice chair

Dina Powell McCormick Appointed as Meta's President and Vice Chairman

Meta revealed on Monday that Dina Powell McCormick, a former advisor to President Trump, will take on the roles of president and vice chairman at the company. She will join Meta’s executive leadership and play a key part in shaping the company’s strategic direction and implementation.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, commented in a blog post, “Dina’s extensive background in international finance and her strong global connections make her exceptionally qualified to help lead Meta through its next stage of development as President and Vice Chairman.”

Prior to this appointment, Powell McCormick served as deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump responded to the announcement, writing, “Congratulations to DINA POWELL MCCORMICK, WHO HAS JUST BEEN NAMED THE NEW PRESIDENT OF META. A great choice by Mark Z!!! She is a fantastic, and very talented, person, who served the Trump Administration with strength and distinction.”

Earlier in her career, Powell McCormick worked under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during the George W. Bush administration. She also spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, where she held senior leadership positions as a partner.

Just last week, Meta brought on Curtis Joseph Mahoney, a former Microsoft legal executive and deputy U.S. trade representative during Trump’s first term, as chief legal officer.
