Thieves Make Off with Rare Pokémon Cards in Daring Los Angeles Heists
A group of thieves has officially joined the ranks of notorious criminals after making off with a massive haul of Pokémon cards and other valuable collectibles, totaling $300,000, during two separate robberies in Los Angeles on Sunday. One of the incidents, captured on surveillance video, featured five masked individuals in hooded sweatshirts breaking into Simi Sportscards in Simi Valley at approximately 3:30 a.m. Armed with a reciprocating saw, the suspects ignored blaring alarms as they shattered display cases and quickly filled bags with Pokémon and sports cards, which the shop owner estimates to be worth around $50,000.
The entire operation was executed swiftly, with the culprits entering and exiting the store in a matter of minutes.
